Daniel Siad, a model scout whose name appeared extensively in records connected to Jeffrey Epstein, has been found dead at his home outside Paris, French authorities confirmed.

Siad, 69, was discovered Monday night at his residence in Colombes, a northwestern suburb of the French capital. Authorities have not announced an official cause of death and ordered a post-mortem examination.

French investigations were underway

French prosecutors were reportedly investigating Siad over alleged trafficking connected to Epstein and over separate allegations of sexual crimes. His attorney, Menya Arab-Tigrine, told ABC News that a neighbor’s sister discovered his body. She said she believed he may have suffered a heart attack but was awaiting the official findings.

Siad denied wrongdoing and told French broadcaster BFMTV earlier this year that his contacts with Epstein had been strictly professional.

Thousands of references in released records

Siad’s name appears more than 2,000 times in documents released by the U.S. Justice Department under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Correspondence described women he had scouted in Sweden, France, Eastern Europe and elsewhere, according to ABC News.

In one 2014 exchange cited in the records, Siad referred to several women he had expected Epstein to meet. Epstein replied that he would reimburse Siad for expenses. Investigators have continued examining how recruiters and associates operated within Epstein’s international network.
