The report said his death was officially ruled accidental, bringing new clarity nearly six months after his family announced that he had died on February 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His mother, Carol Garrett, previously said he had visited an emergency room after experiencing intense pain and was diagnosed with shingles. She also said he had moved to Tulsa to focus on his sobriety and had made significant progress in rebuilding his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garrett played Plug in \u201cHow to Eat Fried Worms,\u201d alongside Luke Benward, Adam Hicks and other young cast members. The ensemble received the Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film prize at the 2007 Young Artist Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before appearing on screen, Garrett performed in local theater productions and joined the \u201cBarney\u2019s Colorful World\u201d international tour. He later stepped away from acting and lived a more private life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A memorial service was held in Oklahoma in February.
